The 250m wasn't a fluke

June 21, 2026

I swam 250m again today in my 1600m training session. It's like my own, small 4-minute-mile. I am pushing through swimming milestones that I didn't think were possible 6 months ago. Let's fucking go. I'm proud of myself:)

Something new I learned: Gliding.

Slowing down my stroke and gliding into it was a huge moment today. I would straighten my legs, reach my arm in front of my body, and slightly tilt my hips and body. Therefore, I found myself performing less strokes per lap, which also could mean less exertion in total. I felt like I was in flow state when I was gliding.

I feel really accomplished after sessions like these. The warm sun, slightly cool water, and the lactic acid building in my shoulders and back combine into a happy soup in my head and soul.
